Sharing Safely Online & In Game Chats
Three-page toolkit · Grades 5–9 · Teacher, student, and family editions
Games, group chats, and DMs are ordinary social spaces to most students, which is exactly why small details get shared with people they only know online. A first name, a school mascot, a photo background, and a usual play time can identify a student even when no single detail seems sensitive. This toolkit teaches a simple "Share Check" students can use in the moment, and gives teachers and families clear steps when something goes wrong — including the one adults most often get wrong: record account name, platform, and date/time only, and never open, save, or forward suspected sexual imagery of a minor.
